ORIGINAL WWII GERMAN HITLER YOUTH (HJ) BELT BUCKLE
“BLUT UND EHRE” — AUTHENTIC PERIOD EXAMPLE
This is an original World War II–era German Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend) belt buckle, an authentic uniform component worn by members of the HJ during the Third Reich.
The buckle features the classic HJ diamond with swastika, surmounted by the Hitler Youth eagle, enclosed within a circular wreath bearing the motto “BLUT UND EHRE” (“Blood and Honour”). The design is sharply struck and consistent with known period examples issued from the mid-1930s through the early war years. Constructed of nickel-plated brass or steel, this example shows honest period wear, including surface oxidation, plating loss, and age-appropriate corrosion. Importantly, the wear is natural and unforced—exactly what collectors expect from an untouched original rather than a cleaned or artificially aged piece. The reverse retains correct period hardware, including the roller bar and catch, confirming originality. No modern repairs or alterations are evident.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT
The Hitler Youth organization played a central role in Nazi Germany, serving as both a political indoctrination movement and a preparatory institution for military service. Uniform components such as this buckle were mass-issued yet heavily worn, making original survivors increasingly scarce in authentic, unaltered condition.
